About the Department
The Finance Department at ISO New England is responsible for safeguarding and growing the company’s assets while ensuring compliance with audit requirements, generally accepted accounting principles, and the highest ethical standards. The team establishes and maintains financial policies and procedures that keep the organization running smoothly and responsibly.
What You’ll Be Working On
As an Accounting Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience working as an entry-level member of the finance team. You will support day-to-day operations, including:
- Daily reconciliation of all cash accounts and accounts receivable processing
- Data entry and support for quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting
- Month-end close activities, journal entries, and general ledger analysis
- Maintenance of the fixed asset system
- Accounts payable processing, including check runs and handling inquiries
How You’ll Make an Impact
As an Accounting Intern, your work will directly support the integrity and accuracy of ISO New England’s financial operations. By assisting with reconciliations, reporting, and analysis, you’ll help ensure compliance with accounting standards and strengthen the financial insights that guide critical business decisions. Your contributions will enhance efficiency in daily operations and provide meaningful support to the finance team as they safeguard and grow the company’s assets.
What We Look For in a Candidate
- Current enrollment in a four-year accounting program
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
- Strong technical skills in computer software and accounting applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous work experience in a professional setting (preferred)
