We are seeking an experienced Structural Welder to join our skilled team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing structural components used in industrial boiler systems, chillers, pressure vessels, and mechanical support structures. Work includes in-shop fabrication and occasional on-site field welding during equipment installation, modification, or repair projects.
- Structural Fabrication & Welding
- Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and welding symbols.
- Perform MIG, TIG, stick (SMAW), and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW) processes on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys.
- Weld structural supports, pipe racks, pressure parts, and equipment frames used in industrial heating and cooling applications.
- Cutting, Fitting, and Assembly
- Operate oxy-fuel torches, plasma cutters, and grinders for cutting and prepping materials.
- Fit and tack components for alignment and structural integrity prior to final weld-out.
- Assist in the assembly of boiler units, ducting, tanks, and structural skids.
- Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to OSHA, company safety standards, and proper PPE usage at all times.
- Participate in toolbox talks and report any unsafe working conditions or practices.
- Follow proper procedures for confined space entry and hot work permitting when applicable.
- Field Installation Support (as needed)
- Travel to job sites for structural welding, equipment rigging, and skid installation.
- Work with pipefitters, millwrights, and riggers during system installation projects.
- Ensure all field welds meet inspection and testing requirements (visual, X-ray, etc.).
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of structural welding experience, preferably in an industrial setting.- Proficient in MIG, TIG, stick, and FCAW welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication blueprints and weld symbols.
- Experience with basic layout tools (squares, levels, tape measures) and measuring equipment.
- Must pass company-administered welding qualification test.
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or elevated positions.- Forklift and overhead crane operation experience.
- Familiarity with boiler codes, industrial HVAC systems, and ASME fabrication.
- Field welding experience in industrial environments (plants, refineries, etc.).
- Indoor fabrication shop and outdoor field job sites.
- Exposure to heat, noise, welding fumes, and heavy machinery.
- Some overnight travel may be required for field projects.
