Structural Engineer III
Location: Greeenwood Village, CO
CLP Engineering (CLPE) is seeking an experienced and talented Structural Engineer III to join our corporate engineering team and support infrastructure projects, including substations, transmission lines, and distribution systems.
CLPE is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm with more than twenty years' experience in electrical utility system ownership, upgrades, maintenance and operations through our sister company, City Light & Power. CLPE offers a wide range of power system engineering services to investor-owned, municipal, cooperative, government, industrial, and commercial customers.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop detailed project plans, designs, and cost estimates for power systems infrastructure projects, including substations, transmission lines, and distribution systems.
Analyze project requirements and technical specifications, review design and construction plans, and provide recommendations to improve project feasibility, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
Coordinate with other departments, project teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, and ensure timely completion of projects within budget and on schedule.
Conduct site visits, inspections, and quality control checks to ensure that projects meet design and regulatory requirements, and ensure that all documentation and reports are accurate and up-to-date.
Collaborate with other engineers, planners, and stakeholders to identify and evaluate potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, materials, and methods in the power systems infrastructure field, and recommend new approaches to improve project outcomes.

Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
Five to seven (5-7) years of civil/structural engineering work experience with focus on power systems infrastructure projects.
MS degree in structural engineering a plus.
Candidate must have strong technical expertise, project management experience, and regulatory compliance knowledge to ensure safe and reliable operation of power systems infrastructure.
Strong technical proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other design software.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards related to power systems infrastructure design, construction, and maintenance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to identify and mitigate project risks.
Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Proficiency in preparation of construction documents, both plans and specifications, for a variety of clients.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
Experience performing construction observation and field investigations
General knowledge of electrical engineering principles and experience working with power systems infrastructure preferred.
Travel
Travel between job sites with 20% overnight travel expected.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
You must be a US citizen.
You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance for this position.
A valid driver's license required with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy.
Benefits & Compensation
We offer an excellent benefits package that includes medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, 401k with company contribution, paid time off and paid holidays.
Salary range $90,000 - $110,000 annually based on experience plus eligible to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
