Strategic Procurement Intern (8-Month Contract)

As a Strategic Procurement Intern at Trench Canada Instrument Transformers, you will be responsible for Supplier Management and Strategic Supply Chain Initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the supply chain operations of a manufacturing environment and exposure to a variety of supplier-related areas, including pricing, negotiations, contracts, and vendor management.

- Provide end to end support to the Strategic Manager & Strategic Buyers in the Supplier Management Process, including contract negotiation, qualification, selection, evaluation, development, and classification.

- Assist in the maintenance, organization, and distribution of procurement records and information (procurement procedures, policies, price lists, contracts, supplier evaluations etc.).

- Analyze and create procurement data reports using Excel and PowerPoint.

- Request for quote, analyze for Total Cost of Ownership including cost calculations and comparisons.

- Manage the vendor setup process.

- Maintain the data of purchasing records in SAP as required.

Requirements:

- Student must be working towards an undergraduate degree in Engineering and must be in their 2nd year or higher.

- Availability to begin in the Winter 2026 term and commit to a full-time, 8-month internship.

- Experience working with Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS-PowerPoint and MS Excel is an asset.

- Excellent spoken and written, communication and interpersonal skills.

- Good time-management and strong organizational skills.

- Self-driven, resourceful, and has a strong work ethic to achieve goals independently.
