The stores specialist is responsible for operating the central storeroom at a power plant, which entails designing and participating in customer service projects. Other responsibilities are assigned or requested as necessary.
Operates the central storeroom at a power plant. Procures and delivers materials and/or services. Maintains proper accounting practices and documentation (tax accounting, property accounting, inventory accounting, accounts pay) at the central storeroom. Participates in development and implementation of team improvement goals and budget. Designs and participates in customer service projects. Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Associate's degree in business or related field. (Typically three years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess an associate's degree.)
Materials management, inventory control, purchasing and/or accounting experience preferred.
Administrative skills to maintain store's policies and procedures and to monitor budgets. Analytical skills to calculate pricing on requests for quotes and daily purchases; to determine proper authorization levels; to calculate inventory turns; to add corporate item master descriptions and to determine correct time reporting and accounting.
Software/word processing skills to use word processing software, to use electronic mail and to maintain data bases.
Project management planning skills to plan workflow, coordinate projects and resolve conflicting demands.
Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
