The Steel Weld 2nd shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the welding operations during the second shift, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in the production of steel components. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills. Background check and pre-employment drug screening required.
- Supervise a team of welding technicians, ensuring adequate staffing levels and assigning tasks appropriately.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance employee skills and performance.
- Motivate and inspire the team to achieve production goals and maintain high standards of quality.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures and standards.
- Inspect welded components to ensure they meet specifications and are free from defects.
- Identify and address any quality issues promptly.
- Collaborate with production planning and scheduling departments to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of orders.
- Monitor production progress and make adjustments as needed to meet deadlines.
- Enforce safety regulations and procedures to create a safe work environment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards promptly.
- Provide safety training and education to employees.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of welding equipment.
- Schedule and oversee equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Monitor equipment usage and identify areas for improvement.
- Troubleshoot welding issues and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze production data to identify root causes of problems and develop solutions.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production, quality, and safety performance.
- Provide feedback to management on areas for improvement and recommendations for process optimization.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Technical or vocational training in welding or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in welding, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
