The Welding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all welding operations within the fabrication shop. This includes supervising welding personnel, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, coordinating with engineering and production teams, and maintaining efficient workflow to meet project deadlines.
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of welders and welding operations.
- Ensure all welding work complies with applicable codes, standards, and specifications (AWS, AISC, etc.).
- Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure weld integrity and adherence to blueprints.
- Train and mentor welding staff on techniques, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Monitor and maintain welding equipment, ensuring proper operation and maintenance.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality control, and project management teams to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of production, quality, and personnel performance.
- Enforce safety protocols and participate in safety audits and meetings.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in welding preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of welding experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is a plus.
- Work is performed in a fabrication shop environment.
- Exposure to noise, heat, and heavy machinery.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
