Expected salary range of $76,500 to $85,000 ($36.78 - $40.87 per hour), varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus, and 401(k).
LOCATION & HOURS
This role is based on-site at our customer’s facility in Frederick, MD. Initial training period will be Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Working hours for the role will be 12 hour rotating AM & PM shifts 7:00/19:00. Occasional overtime hours may be required for shift coverage or urgent maintenance needs.
Primary Purpose Of Position
Constellation New Energy is seeking a candidate to fill a position of Stationary Engineer at one of our plant facilities. This role will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of eight Cleaver Brooks 400 & 500 HP boilers and associated equipment at our customer's facility located in Frederick, Maryland.
Primary Duties And Accountabilities•Maintain & monitor safe working conditions; identifies, corrects, and reports unsafe work areas, enforces safety compliance.
•Operate assigned plants as a Stationary Engineer in compliance with published Company operating and safety policies/procedures.
•Act as sole Constellation representative onsite at customer's facility. Maintain customer relationships with all customers served by assigned plants
•Monitor assigned plant operations through various controls systems/technologies.
•Ability to be on-call and respond to emergency situations
•Responds to dynamic 24/7 business environment via availability to work odd hours including periodic holidays and weekends throughout the year regarding changing plant conditions and risks.
•Compliance and Regulatory Obligations: Ensure all project obligations are successfully administered and regulatory requirements are met.
•Assure the safe, efficient, and continuous commodity supply to meet system demands.
•Ensure water quality at assigned plants by executing prescribed water management procedures and maintaining proper plant chemistry.
•Operate, maintain, and perform preventive/predictive maintenance and minor repairs on plant equipment, including Cleaver-Brooks Package Boilers.
•Create, maintain, and follow up on work orders for equipment repairs, documenting all maintenance activities and outcomes.
•Implement Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures by identifying energy sources, applying effective lockout measures, and completing all required documentation.
•Participate in and complete all required training to comply with company safety and operating policies.
•Demonstrate working knowledge of fire-tube boiler operations, combustion processes, feedwater systems, and natural gas combustion hazards.
Minimum Qualifications
•High school Diploma or GED
•5-years of boiler operating experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
•Grade 1 Maryland Stationary Engineer license or ability to obtain one in a specified time frame
•Possession of a Federal Security Clearance (HSPD-12 minimum) or eligibility to obtain one
•Mechanical and electrical aptitude, including working with switching up to 480 volts
•Proficient computer background/experience, including Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
•Ability to define problems, research, collect data, establish facts, identify root cause, maintain confidentiality, analyze data, and draw valid conclusions/recommendations
•Strong knowledge of customer service procedures, principles, interpersonal skills and strong communication
•Demonstrated experience as a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently
•Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
•Ability to lift a of 65 pounds
•Ability to work in a confined space and at various heights
•Available to respond as needed in emergency situations
Preferred Qualifications
•Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Experience
•5-years experience in operating Cleaver Brooks Package Boiler
•Experience in production facilities with a focus on boiler water chemistry and associated systems
•Knowledge of CB Hawk, Schneider Electric, or similar operating systems
•Prior experience with the operation of centrifugal chillers and HVAC-related equipment
