The Sr Test Engineer, based at our Liberty Lake, WA location, will be working within a portion of the R&D department known as the TAI (Test, Architecture and Integration) team. This team focuses on Integration testing of components of a full system solution (hardware, firmware, RF and Cellular Network communication, and Software) for the electric, water, and gas meters.
Duties & Responsibilities
•Develops test plans, test designs, test objectives, and test cases.
•Identify, analyze and document defects, questionable behavior, errors and inconsistencies with the AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) systems
•Collaborate with development engineers in product design, code reviews, walkthroughs and product lifecycle inspections.
•Investigate problems of the test environment and bring to resolution.
•Respond to inquiries from development or other internal groups about the behavior of the AMI solution
•Execute tests on cellular network test environments and report test results with analysis.
•Accomplishes operational and/or functional objectives that enable the successful execution of department goals; tracks, monitors and reports on KPIs and action plans.
•Completes engineering activities and tasks for specific architecture or technology.
•Supports new product development including design, analysis, and testing.
•Communicates with internal key stakeholders to understand technical requirements.
•Completes technical tasks and deliverables within set timeline.
•Authors technical documentation and follows standardized processes and procedures.
•Knowledge of hardware and software integration.
•Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams.
•Professional workplace communication skills.
•Able to review requirements and estimate test durations
Required Skills & Experience
•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
•5+ years of test experience on med-large systems
•Excellent communication skills
•Strong organizational skills
•Aptitude for thinking outside the box
Preferred Skills & Experience
•Manual Integration testing
•Experience in testing systems utilizing cellular networks
•Good troubleshooting and analysis skills to determine root cause of issues
•Familiar with usage of MS Azure DevOps
•Proficient with MS Office applications
Physical Demands
Applicants must be able to lift and carry electrical test equipment weighing less than 20 pounds short distances. Connecting and disconnecting electrical test equipment is also required.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience and may vary by location.
Liberty Lake, WA: The base salary is: $78,000.00 - $148,000.00.
