The Role

Robust category management is critical to supply chain’s success.

In this role, you will:

- Responsible for building category strategy to ensure operational efficiencies

- Establishes a strong network and fosters collaboration with customers, suppliers, key stakeholders and team members

- Responsible for the identification, development, execution, and management of strategic sourcing opportunities within your assigned portfolio of goods and services material group categories

- Conduct regular strategy performance reviews, both with internal stakeholders and external vendors, and adjust sourcing strategies to mitigate market risks and leverage market opportunities

- Monitor vendor service levels by developing and utilizing KPIs and scorecards to provide fact-based feedback on vendor performance

- Manage performance driven relationships and utilizing continuous improvement methodologies, you will identify, develop, and implement improvements to align with business needs and market changes

- Lead the development and negotiation of contracts in alignment with the category strategy and collaborate with internal stakeholders to move forward on objectives

- Engage cross-functional teams and establish and maintain relationships to secure participation and support of ongoing activities

Required:

- Bachelor’s degree in commerce/business, supply chain management, or engineering

- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, vendor management and/or procurement

- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered

- Superior negotiation, problem solving and analytical skills, with proficient ability to prioritize workload

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills maintaining a variety of communication channels to support stakeholders

- High level of computer proficiency, specifically with MS Office and ERP/MRP software

Recommended:

- SCMP or CPSM designation

- PMP certification

- Formal training in Lean Six Sigma

- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to connect and work with all levels in the organization

- Excellent organizational and change-management skills
