Quality Engineering
Here in HMH, Quality Engineering is a core function within all our autonomous Agile teams. We have a highly collaborative, continuous delivery culture. All teammates contribute to the quality of the product and take responsibility for the build pipeline to production (DevOps) and you will too.
We are a technology-forward company with a growing focus on Agentic AI, systems that can reason, plan and act autonomously to support engineering workflows. HMH is actively integrating agentic testing and development tools, including ACCELQ Autopilot for autonomous quality validation and Codex/GitHub Copilot coding agents to accelerate test development and coverage.
This role strikes the right balance between traditional QE skills and the future of automation enhanced by AI-powered tools and frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with developers, UI/UX, and architecture teams in an Agile environment to ensure delivery of high-quality software.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks (using JavaScript, Java, Python, etc.).
- Drive implementation of agent-assisted testcase [SK1] generation and autonomous quality validation using platforms like Autogen n8n, ACCELQ Autopilot.
- Leverage GitHub Copilot/Codex to accelerate script creation, improve test coverage, and reduce development cycle time.
- Perform comprehensive testing of functional and non-functional aspects, including APIs, UI, performance, and security.
- Lead and advocate for quality across the SDLC, proactively mentoring teammates and promoting a test-first mindset.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Concourse, or GitHub Actions.
- Collaborate on quality strategy in a fast-paced DevOps-centric environment, focusing on release stability and velocity.
- Evaluate and experiment with emerging automation and AI tools to continuously evolve QE capabilities.
- 6–10 years of experience in manual and automated testing across various platforms.
- Strong understanding of QA processes including test plan preparation, Testcase development and execution
- Exposure and understanding of LLMs, Agentic AI Systems and MCP Servers specific to Software testing
- Experience with agentic AI tools like ACCELQ Autopilot, GitHub Copilot, or other LLM-driven automation agents.
- Basic understanding of Integrating Agentic AI capabilities for autonomous decision making and workflow automation for functional testing
- Experience in building test strategies and optimizing test coverage using AI-driven insights.
- Proficient in developing and maintaining test automation (Java, JavaScript, Python, or similar).
- Solid knowledge of quality engineering methodologies, including risk-based testing, exploratory testing, and structured test design.
- Experience with SQL and relational database testing.
- Strong background in testing microservices, REST APIs, and web-based UIs.
- Working knowledge of source control tools (GitHub, Bitbucket) and CI/CD systems.
- Hands-on experience with containerization and microservice architectures (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong problem-solving mindset, excellent time management, and adaptability.
- Familiarity with contract testing (Pactflow), A11Y Testing, BrowserStack, or cloud-based quality platforms.
- Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus) to support post-release validation and quality insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
