Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Sr. Project Engineer in Houma, Louisiana.

Position Summary

Conducts analytical studies on engineering proposals to develop design for products by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Interpret client specifications and apply them to the project / equipment design.

- Understand regulatory requirements and apply them to the project / equipment design.

- Responsible for creating and maintaining engineering document release schedule.

- Responsible for collaborating closely with customer and project manager on project progress.

- Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout, detailed drawings, and schematics.

- Plans and develops test procedures, installation procedures, and acceptance criteria.

- Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.

- Able to identify, suggest, and implement design modifications as required.

- Perform engineering calculations that support design modifications or new design equipment.

- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.

Other Duties And Responsibilities

- Provide technical support to customers.

- Provide technical assistance to other departments within the company.

- Perform peer review checks of other engineering calculations.

Qualification Requirements

- BS Engineering

- Minimum of 5 years experience in industry application

- Understanding of steel structure fabrication and welding processes

- Understanding of the machining process

- Understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems and can interpret schematics.

- Understanding of machine design components

- Familiarity with common structural steel metallurgy

- Functional in MathCad (or other math software), Excel, FEA software (ANSYS), and 3D software.

Physical Requirements

- Prolonged sitting

- Moderate bending

- Lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and 20 pounds occasionally
