Primary Purpose PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Sr Methods Specialist has the overall responsibility for the initiation, research, development, and approval of construction, operating, and maintenance, work practices, tools, and equipment to support various business unit functional areas. The Sr Methods Specialist works collaboratively and proactively with line personnel, management, external vendors, other utilities, and training staffs to initiate, research, design, evaluate, and develop work processes and tools that enhances overall safety, increases productivity, and reduce costs. The Sr Methods Specialist works under the general supervision of the Methods Lead and spends significant time interfacing directly with his/her customers throughout the system. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
Primary Duties PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Research, test, and develop field work practices, procedures, tools, equipment, and materials for various business unit functional areas. (40%)
- Develop and distribute Field Notes, Equipment Bulletins, and other appropriate documentation to alert the workforce to procedural changes, critical issues, and new tools and equipment. (10%)
- Proactively interface with other EED Departments to promote work practices and procedures, tools and equipment that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity, and reduced cost. (25%)
- Foster collaborative working relationships with counterparts throughout Exelon so synergies will be leveraged and "Being One" will be part of every day business. (10%)
- Provide "Subject Matter Expertise" in ACE, RCI, and other related investigations to assist the business in safety, procedural, and legal requirements (10%)
- Assure timely response to emergencies and provide 24 hour/day coverage for emergency response support. (5%)
- The Sr Methods Specialist utilizes project management skills on a daily basis as he/she interfaces with various departments and levels of employees while executing multiple tasks targeted towards improving and aligning work practices, procedures, tools, and equipment that focus on driving world-class safety and productivity.
- The Sr Methods Specialist must demonstrate strong and credible subject matter expertise, and is linked into RCI/RCA, ACE, Safety Meetings, Business Plans, Conferences, and other investigations to assist the business. In addition, the Methods Specialist takes a lead role in initiating, evaluating, and testing new tools/equipment/work practices that will generate a positive Return on Investment for the company, increase the safety of the employees and improve productivity in the work force.
- The Sr Methods Specialist must possess a comprehensive understanding of the Safety Rule Book and Work Practices so they can incorporate that knowledge with the daily routine and emergent requests for information, clarification, and interpretations they receive.
- In addition, the Sr Methods Specialist must demonstrate the ability to understand and proficiently operate a wide range of equipment and tools in use by their customers.
- Finally, the Sr Methods Specialist is required to respond to system needs on a 24 hour a day basis to meet the needs of the business.
- Bachelor's degree and 4-7 years' experience or in lieu of degree, 6-9 years' experience
- Ability to develop, and maintain effective working relationships with customers, peers, subordinates, and management.
- Consistent demonstration of safety as a personal and organizational value.
- Technical, analytical, and organizational skills along with strong demonstrated oral and written skills
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office and other Windows based applications
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS2-3 years of supervisory experience, including second line supervision level, project management, team direction, peer challenging, and senior leadership interface.

- Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $89,600.00/Yr. – $123,200.00/Yr.
