POSITION SUMMARY
You will apply engineering principles to oil & gas product and services to assist in the development of new technologies and to ensure existing technologies are used appropriately. The primary responsibilities are to provide technical support to operations, customers, and sales team, while contributing to the projects within the Innovation and Design team and providing additional technical support to other departments including IT, Procurement, Production, Marketing, and Quality. You will bring a collaborative approach to help drive sales, increase company innovation, and maintain a high level of operational execution. You will have broad strategic thinking abilities, a drive for results, coupled with excellent leadership skills to help the company define its competitive advantages and target to succeed in the oil & gas industry.
Innovation and Design Support:
•Execute feasibility studies, conceptual design, detailed engineering design calculations
•Experience or knowledge of pressure vessel designs/construction, process equipment design and maintenance
•Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods, testing finished products and systems, and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes
•Developing and reviewing key design documents (Heat & Material Balance, PFDs, P&IDs and shutdown keys)
•Supervise and verify line sizing, PSV sizing, equipment sizing, heat exchanger rating evaluations, preparation of equipment process data sheets
•Conduct P&ID/HAZOP/MOC/Risk reviews, generate control narratives, prepare start-up/operating manual
•Provide technical recommendations on the purchase of new equipment and materials.
•Experience and ability to use CFD simulations (using OpenFOAM or other software) to understand fluid behavior inside Sandtinel vessels
•Leadership and mentorship of junior engineers
•Use simulation software.
•Working Knowledge of all appropriate Standards and Codes
Support to Sales, Marketing, and Customers:
•Drive the technical evaluation portion of the sales process and RFQs.
•Deliver technical presentations to customers as required through the sales team
•Evaluate gas samples provided by customers for successful use in the NG Sidekick
•Use CFD simulations to evaluate the well parameters to determine the right Sandtinel units
•Identify and provide safe and reliable solutions for all technical issues to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
•Obtain and evaluate customer feedback to develop new products or improve existing offerings.
•Create case histories and technical content for marketing documents to promote the company’s capabilities along with the features & benefits of products and services.
Support to Operations:
•Assist in the investigation of operational issues. Recommend corrective actions while documenting lessons learned.
•Collaborate with operations team to create process document such as standard operating procedures and quality plans
•Utilizing feedback from the field, develop appropriate solutions that would improve operations by being more efficient and cost-effective.
•Participate in initial jobs when new technology is rolled out. Monitor and evaluate new products during initial deployment in the field.
•Perform field visits to inspect performance of equipment
•Available to be on call to provide technical support during operation
QUALIFICATIONS
•Successful candidate will be a Professional Engineer (P. Eng. Or P.E.)
•Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Degree.
•Minimum 5+ years experience.
•Experience with pressure vessel codes and design is a must
•EPCM background with Gas Processing is ideal
•Experience with CFD simulations using OpenFOAM or other software is an asset
•Process design experience including process mass balances, process flow diagrams and process support services is preferred
•Systems design experience including piping and instrument diagrams, cause and effect diagrams, hazard and operability design reviews and systems support services is preferred
•Proficiency with Engineering standards and codes (API, ASME, NACE, ABSA).
•Strategic thinker with problem solving skills.
•Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work unsupervised.
•Self-management and a demonstrated ability to multi-task.
•Collaborative team player with mindset to continually improve processes and results.
•Can adapt to change as needed.
