First Electric is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Analyst with a minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within the utility sector. The ideal candidate will possess advanced statistical knowledge, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to leverage data to drive strategic initiatives and optimize operational performance. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing various sized datasets, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to inform key business decisions. Additionally, you will be responsible for mentoring and training junior analysts and team members to enhance their analytical capabilities.
A. Analyze complex datasets to extract meaningful insights and identify patterns that drive business value and operational efficiency.
B. Develop predictive models, forecasting techniques, data mining algorithms, and machine learning approaches to support decision-making processes and improve performance metrics.
C. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business requirements, develop analytical solutions, and translate data findings into actionable recommendations.
D. Design and implement statistical experiments and hypothesis tests to validate assumptions and assess the effectiveness of strategic initiatives.
E. Communicate findings and insights effectively to stakeholders through clear and compelling presentations, reports, and visualizations.
F. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data integrity, quality, and accessibility, and participate in data governance initiatives to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
G. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in data analytics to continuously enhance analytical capabilities and drive innovation within the organization.
H. Mentor and train junior analysts on data analysis techniques, statistical methodologies, and best practices in data visualization and interpretation.
I. Conduct training sessions and workshops to promote best practices in data analysis and visualization within the team.

The Senior Data Analyst shall be required to perform any other duties assigned to fulfill the objectives of the Cooperative.
A. Analytics Manager: Requests and provides advice and assistance as required. Seeks necessary approvals and keep informed of projects and tasks.
B. Sr. Data Engineer: Requests data pipelines and data access for analytic projects.
C. IT Department: To work with the security team to make sure applications, websites, data, etc. are secure and follow our security standards.
D. All Employees: To assist and support data infrastructure developments and issues.
A. Information Technology Service Provider: To work in close collaboration on data architecture, coding, security, integration and other needs, as required.
B. Third Party Vendors: To work in close collaboration to access data sets using API and other methods as specified.
This position is an exempt position under the Wage and Hour law and overtime compensation is not required.
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
A. Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in the utility sector.
A. Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and programming languages such as R, Python, SAS, and SQL.
B. Experience developing predictive models, forecasting techniques, data mining algorithms, linear regression, logistic regression, and clustering analysis.
C. Familiarity with visualization tools, notebooks and libraries such as Apache Superset, Shiny, Quarto, Tableau, Jupyter Notebook, Apache Zepplin, ggplot2, matplotlib or similar products.
D. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
E. Proven track record of mentoring and training analysts and junior analysts to enhance their analytical capabilities is highly desirable.
F. Knowledge of electrical utility operations is preferred but not required.
