We’re proud to call northern Saskatchewan the home of our largest operations. In support of Cameco’s mining division in northern Saskatchewan, you will support a safe, well-informed, company-aligned and engaged operational workforce. The position provides an important link between mining division leadership and staff, acting as a liaison on communication strategies and issues management, with a focus on engaging the hard-to-reach frontline worker. The majority of your time will be spent on site, split between Key Lake and McArthur River on a Monday-Thursday operational work schedule.
- Build strong relationships, establish trust and proactively advise the Key Lake and McArthur River senior management teams
- Develop and execute communication plans that support operational, divisional and company priorities
- Produce and deliver content and experiences that drive impact
- Maintain a separate focus on safety communications and the development of initiatives aimed at improving operational safety performance
- Challenge existing communication methods and channels, seeking opportunities for more effective reach across the operations
- Assist with site special event and celebration planning, as required
- Bachelor’s degree within a related field (arts, communications, journalism, public relations, business)
- 3 to 5 years of related experience in internal communications and/or public affairs, media or community relations
- A clear and concise writer
- A quick learner and proven self-starter
- Organized and able to manage several projects simultaneously
- Able to see the link between people, culture, the operations’ needs and the company’s big picture
- Outgoing and curious about the operational workforce
- Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
- Knowledge of internal communication channel functionality, in particular SharePoint and Teams
- Comfort with light graphic design, photography and video production
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry
