Site Safety Specialist
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety Oversight:
•Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, site specific work and safety rules, and company policies.
•Identify potential hazards and unsafe work practices on site and recommend corrective actions.
•Document deficiencies and work with the Manager of Safety and Training to develop mitigation tools and policies.
Training and Awareness:
•Assist in conducting safety orientations and regular safety training sessions for employees.
•Promote awareness of safety policies and practices among site workers.
•Enforce use of Job Safety Analysis, Weekly Toolbox Safety Talks and Equipment Inspection.
•Documentation and Reporting:
•Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions. Prepare and submit regular safety reports to The Manager of Safety and Training.
Incident Management:
•Participate in the investigation of incidents and accidents on the construction site.
•Assist in developing and implementing corrective and preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
Emergency Response:
•Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
•Participate in emergency response drills and actual emergencies as required.
•Keep abreast of new safety laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
•Suggest improvements to existing safety programs and procedures.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Education: High School Diploma/GED required: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field is preferred.
•OSHA 30-Hour certification is required.
•Industrial Construction certification is preferred.
•Scaffold and Painting experience is required.
•Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
Knowledge:
•Familiarity with construction processes and safety regulations, particularly OSHA standards.
•Basic understanding of risk assessment and hazard identification.
•Understand and be able to demonstrate the use of the "Hierarchy of Controls"
Skills:
•Strong observational and analytical skills.
•Ability to communicate safety requirements effectively to individuals at all levels.
•Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements:
•Ability to traverse construction sites, including climbing ladders and navigating uneven terrain.

•Able to drive safely for extended hours and manage overnight travel.
