The Shop Technician Lead will work under the direction of the Shop Foreman to support the production of automation equipment, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to high standards. This role focuses on hands-on leadership on the shop floor, assisting with team coordination and production tasks, while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
The Shop Technician Lead will also be a part of the inventory team, helping to ensure inventory accuracy and availability.
- Assist in overseeing the production of automation equipment,
custom projects, building stands, and custom communication boxes, ensuring tasks are completed on time.
- Guide and support shop assistants and shop technicians in their
daily tasks, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to production schedules.
- Monitor production processes to ensure all products meet the
company’s quality standards and customer specifications.
- Enforce safety protocols on the shop floor, assist in conducting safety inspections, and promptly report any safety concerns to the Shop Foreman.
- Actively participate in production activities, stepping in to assist
with hands-on tasks as needed to meet project deadlines.
- Serve as a member of the inventory team, helping to maintain
accurate inventory records and ensuring materials are in stock for ongoing projects by communicating needs to the Shop Foreman or Inventory Manager.
- Provide guidance and on-the-job training to shop assistants and
technicians, promoting a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Assist the Shop Foreman in maintaining accurate records of
production activities and report any issues or delays promptly.
- High School diploma and/or equivalent in work experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills, proficient in oral and written communications
- Assembly experience preferred
- Basic reading skills. Must be able to follow directions
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea
- Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules
- Familiarity with mobile tools and applications
- Understanding of electrical process both of Ac and Dc
- Familiarity with and ability to navigate schematics
- Familiarity with the use of laptop computer for monitoring and programming
