Shop Service Technician I (CC-El Reno)

Summary

The Shop Service Technician I works under general supervision and is responsible for performing work on gas compression equipment components and instruments (e.g., pumps, controllers, valves, etc.) at shop location.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

- Perform work on gas compression equipment components and instruments (pumps, controllers, valves, etc.).

- Continue to gain proficiency to accurately and efficiently diagnose mechanical problems and repair engines proficiently.

- Replace and overhaul compressors, checking bearings, crankshaft, etc.

- Disassemble gas compressor parts and equipment.

- Clean gas compressor parts and equipment.

- Reassemble parts (assistance may be required).

- Conduct preservation of equipment stored at company facilities.

- May occasionally be assigned to assist with work at field locations away from the shop, requiring a limited amount of travel which may be overnight and may be on short notice.

- Must recognize and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental rules and policies that are applicable to each location.

- Other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications

- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

- Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in engine, compressor mechanics, and gas compression.

- Sufficient understanding of Caterpillar G3300 engines, small Ariel compressors, and AJAX units, developing understanding of larger and more complex equipment.

- Know standard operating procedures relative to gas compressor maintenance and repair.

- Provide own basic hand tools.

Physical Requirements

- Must be able to work under pressure

- Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department

- Ability to lift, pull, push minimum of 50 lbs.

- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and stretch over and under pipeline equipment.

- Ability to work in all climates and temperatures to do repairs on equipment.
