Shop Welder - This position is a fab shop welder based out of the NexGen Shop.
Position prerequisites:
•
Valid Driver's License
•
Reliable transportation
•
Must pass drug and alcohol screening, DOT physical, and background check
•
Blueprint reading/ interpretation
Duties and Responsibilities:
•
Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
•
Follow all health and safety regulations in accordance with Company policy, State and Federal laws
•
Ensures regulated and proper PPE are always worn as required
•
Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
•
Standing for long periods, bending and kneeling daily.
•
Dependability to be consistently at work and on time.
•
May be needed for occasional working at different locations as needed.
Skills Required:
•
Minimum 1 year experience with MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
•
Weld, fabricate and repair specialized equipment and tooling
•
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
•
Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
•
Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
•
Examine work-pieces for defects and measure work-pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
•
Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
•
Support other shop assignments as required.
•
May be required to go to field sites.
