The Shipping Loader is responsible for ensuring trailers are loaded correctly in a timely manner. Make sure all items, which include cabinets, accessories, and tops are properly scanned before loading onto the trailer and ensuring that proper cubing of the trailer takes place. Limiting all damages if possible, ensuring that all loads are loaded complete and well blocked for securing during transit.
Job Duties:
•Load trucks manually on a daily basis.
•Monitor each cabinet to verify proper trailer placement based on labels.
•Monitor the actual loading/ stacking of the cabinets to increase cubes and prevent damage.
•Will assist in verifying that all accessories are audited individually as the truck is being “closed Up”.
•Will assist in verifying that each cabinet is loaded onto the proper trailer.
•Ensure that all documentation for trailer blocking is verified at the end of the loading phase. Ensuring to include photos.
•Ensure all necessary check sheets are completed for each load and submitted to management.
•Assist in training new employees assigned to departments and current employees regarding new procedures.
•Perform special packaging duties as needed.
•Perform duties in a safe and efficient manner. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
•Provides assistance to other production functions as requested.
•Must have basic math skills.
•Must be able to read a tape measure.
•Must be able to work overtime and occasionally Saturdays.
•Knowledge of Leedo door styles is highly desirable.
•Knowledge of cabinet box parts and drawer box configurations is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions
•Must be able to physically perform daily tasks, which include lifting cabinets/accessories weighing in excess of 50 lbs. to 120 lbs.
•Factory environment, possibly including areas that wear eye protection, hearing protection, and respirators as required.
•Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
•Must be able to be trained in operating equipment.
•Must be able to work in a non-climate control environment for 10 to 12 hours a day.
Education and Experience
•High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent desired.
