Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. Responsible to perform all duties required to operate and maintain gas distribution systems. Responds to emergencies, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, after hour calls, and customer complaints. Subject to on-call rotation and extended service hours.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•High school education with vocational training in gas utility or equivalent work experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
•Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
•Required to maintain a valid driver’s license.
•Must possess or be able to acquire a valid commercial motor vehicle driver’s license appropriate for the position.
•Must successfully complete the applicable Apprenticeship Training Program.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Qualified Service Technician with knowledge of electronic diagnostic processes as a level normally acquired through completion of post-secondary vocational training.
•Strong background in gas utility installation and maintenance.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•Performs all duties required to install, operate and maintain a natural gas distribution system within the applicable guidelines. Including, but not limited to, operating trenching and other pipeline installation equipment, fuses or otherwise joining of pipe and fittings, shovels, tamps, backfills, rakes and perform other functions associated with the installation and maintenance of pipelines.
•Provides gas service, including handling of service calls, gas leak investigations, customer turn-ons and turn-offs, gas piping, meter installation and change outs within applicable guidelines.
•Reads gas meters with accuracy using the ITRON meter reading device.
•Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.
Hourly Wage: $46.48 per hour
