As we grow, we're looking for a Service Manager to lead our dedicated service team and ensure the highest standards in field support, customer care, and technical excellence.
Position Summary
As Service Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the Service Department. You’ll be responsible for leading a small but capable team, overseeing scheduling and service logistics, and providing expert technical support. Your role is key to maintaining high customer satisfaction, ensuring service operations run efficiently, and supporting the professional development of your team.
Key Responsibilities
Department Oversight
•Lead, organize, and continuously improve the Service Department operations.
•Supervise the Service Coordinator and Field Service Technicians.
•Ensure efficient use of Field Service Management (FSM) software system (Zoho FSM).
•Monitor and drive performance toward service KPIs and operational goals.
Technical Support
•Provide expert-level support for biomass boiler troubleshooting (wood chip, pellet systems).
•Interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams and support technicians both remotely and on-site.
•Personally manage complex or sensitive service issues.
•Stay involved during critical projects like system commissioning.
•Provide backup support during off-hours or weekend emergencies when required.
Billing & Accounting Oversight
•Ensure accurate and timely invoicing for all service work.
•Monitor accounts receivable and follow up with overdue customers as needed.
•Coordinate with the accounting team to ensure billing alignment and accuracy.
Manufacturer & Vendor Relations
•Act as a point of contact for technical support, warranties, and parts procurement with boiler manufacturers and vendors.
Team Leadership & Support
•Provide hands-on training and mentorship to technicians.
•Foster a positive and professional team culture.
•Communicate with customers professionally, including in high-stress or challenging situations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
•5+ years of experience in plumbing, HVAC or biomass boiler systems (wood chip/pellet systems preferred).
•Strong leadership and team-building skills and experience as a manager.
•Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities.
•Proficiency with FSM software, Google Suite, and basic accounting systems (training available).
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Willingness to work flexible hours during peak service times.
•Customer-focused mindset with a high degree of professionalism and courtesy.
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience managing service operations or a service department.
•Familiarity with warranty processes and vendor communications.
•Prior experience with FSM tools and accounting software.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
