Colorado Springs Utilities is seeking a Senior Water Infrastructure Engineer to lead critical efforts in dam safety, hydrology, and water infrastructure asset management. In this high-impact role, you’ll work alongside the Chief Dam Safety Engineer and a team of dedicated professionals to assess, maintain, and improve essential infrastructure like dams, pump stations, pipelines, and storage facilities.
- Leading condition assessments and asset management programs for dams and water systems
- Guiding rehabilitation and replacement projects from concept to completion
- Ensuring compliance with Colorado Dam Safety Rules and FERC regulations
- Supporting emergency action planning and operational strategies
- Mentoring other engineers and fostering a culture of safety and technical excellence

- You’re a collaborative, forward-thinking engineer who thrives on solving complex challenges and making a difference. You bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
- Extensive experience in dam safety, hydrology/hydraulics, and water infrastructure
- Strong project management, communication, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD or GIS is a plus
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to remote sites
- A passion for public service, safety, and infrastructure resilience
- Bonus points if you’ve led workshops or public speaking engagements related to dams, water systems, emergency response and related infrastructure!
