terminals with approximately 130 million barrels of aggregate storage tank capacity, and is the 5th largest

terminal owner/operator globally by capacity. Buckeye has a long track record of successful energy

infrastructure major capital projects. Buckeye is owned by a fund managed by IFM Investors, a global fund

Role Summary

The role will lead and participate in efforts to develop, plan, permit and ultimately operate

economic carbon storage opportunities in North America. The position directs and conducts the subsurface

activities of the company. This includes managing contractors through the full project lifecycle, from initial

site evaluation to operations management, and includes development of (or overseeing the development of)

reservoir models that both describe CO2 movement in the subsurface and predict ultimate injection capacity

while assuring permanent storage. In addition, as a critical member of a development team, the position is

expected to perform non-subsurface functions that will advance company priorities.

Primary Responsibilities

- Reservoir Management: Lead a multi-disciplined effort to mature identified CO2 storage

opportunities, including developing and/or overseeing development of effective flow models to

describe CO2 plumes, area of review, and storage mechanisms. Using and/or supervising the use of

dynamic flow simulations to perform sensitivity analysis, optimize well count and placement, and

estimate pore space requirements. Duties include coordinating geoscientists, engineers and

consultants to develop accurate geologic and flow models. Lead de-risking efforts, scenario planning

and development optimization.

- Regulatory Applications: Lead and supervise development of EPA Class VI or equivalent applications

to ensure complete reservoir-related interpretations are included and development plans are

presented accurately, including participation and leading efforts in responding to regulatory agencies

throughout the permitting process. Develop cost effective storage monitoring plans.

- Well Planning and Drilling Support: Develop and recommend testing plans for characterization and

development wells for specific storage sites. Primary Elysian point of contract for drilling consultants

that would manage all drilling-related activities.

- Project Development Planning: Lead all subsurface budgeting and planning efforts, including the

sequence of activity and costs of all subsurface infrastructure, from screening to post injection site

care (PISC). Provide technical input regarding overall project planning, risk mitigation, and

operational strategies, including working with financial-focused teammates in the company to

develop realistic project and cost schedules.

- Site Screening: Working with the storage team (internal and consultants), use best available data to

perform regional/basin level screening to quickly determine storage potential with a focus on

storage capacity, injectability, seal interval integrity and seismicity. Recommend and justify

additional data acquisition as needed.

- Commercial and business development: Possess a working knowledge of commercial considerations

for the CCS value chain, with an appreciation of the importance of capital efficiency regarding

storage in the larger context of capture, transportation and storage. Will support management in

development of responses to formal requests for proposals.

Position Requirements

- Education: Minimum of bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering or closely related discipline - Experience: Minimum of 12 years of reservoir engineering work experience (20+ years preferred); but

candidates with minimum of 4 years of direct CCS experience are encouraged to apply regardless of years of non-CCS experience.

- Experience with vertical and surface flow models for equipment sizing

- Knowledge and use of reservoir data types for input to flow models (eg. core data, logs, pressure transient analysis

- Familiarity with CCS industry and knowledge of Class VI permitting process and regulation

- Familiarity with geologic static modeling methods and software

- Project management and team leader experience, including operative understanding of

economic metrics including net present value concepts

- Experience with drilling of wells is preferred, and experience with drilling or operations of

injection or monitoring wells a plus

Technical Skills

- Familiarity with compositional flow modeling software (eg. CMG, TNavigator, Eclipse)

- Ability to interpret results of flow models and communicate results to the subsurface team
