THE OPPORTUNITY:
Tundra is excited to announce an opportunity for a highly skilled and dynamic Senior Strategic Program Advisor, based in our Calgary office. The incumbent in this rolewill be eligible to participate in Tundra’s hybrid work schedule. The anticipated start date for this position is May – early June.
In this role, you will drive strategic planning, alignment, and execution across the organization using a disciplined Strategic Planning process called Hoshin Kanri. This role requires expertise in program management, leadership coaching, and process improvement to ensure the organization’s strategic objectives are met effectively.

REPORTS TO: Vice President, Strategy & Business Development
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
•Facilitate the development and ongoing enhancement of annual strategic goals and dashboards to monitor progress against key objectives.
•Create practical tools (Excel and PowerPoint) to effectively communicate strategic plans and ensure stakeholder alignment across the organization.
•Execute and enhance processes for reporting, action planning, and implementing corrective measures to address program performance gaps.
•Offer coaching and support to leaders on strategic initiative planning using Hoshin Kanri tools and process, KPI development, and progress tracking. Conduct group and individual coaching sessions to enhance execution and understanding of Hoshin Kanri practices. Additionally, act as a trusted advisor to leaders, providing 1:1 coaching, actionable feedback, and strategic support throughout the year.
•Manage off-site workshops and virtual report outs, including session agendas and materials. In partnership with the administrative team, coordinate locations, logistics and participant accommodations for a smooth execution.
•Collect real-time feedback through surveys and debrief sessions to improve program content, session timing, and structure.
•Adjust plans and materials based on organizational changes, attendee availability, and feedback to ensure program success.
•Deliver regular updates to the senior leadership team on program progress. Exhibit courage and professionalism when escalating concerns and advocating for necessary changes.
•Develop and implement organization-wide communication strategies, including managing an internal webpage dedicated to supporting the program.
•Identify the need for and sources of training to enhance program success. This training may target senior leadership, program leaders, or the entire organization.
•Collaborate with the Human Resources team to ensure a comprehensive organizational understanding of the strategy and its connection to individual goal setting.
WHAT YOU NEED:
•Oil and gas industry experience.
•15+ years of experience in strategic planning, program management, and leadership coaching.
•Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Management, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Engineering, Geoscience, or related disciplines.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
•Experience in the upstream oil and gas industry.
•Experience with Hoshin Kanri or similar strategic frameworks.
•Strong program management skills (training delivery, logistics, stakeholder engagement).
•Ability to gather, analyze, and provide feedback, create actionable plans, and adapt to changes.
•Self-motivated and ability to hold themselves and others accountable.
•Proficiency in creating dashboards, templates, and performance tracking tools.
•Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching skills; ability to influence at all levels.
•Highly organized; capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
