Step into a pivotal role at the intersection of innovation and infrastructure! We’re looking for a Senior Solution Architect with a passion for AI to help shape the future of our ATCO’s IT landscape. In this role, you’ll design and guide intelligent solutions that improve reliability, automate operations, and unlock new value from data across the enterprise. You’ll collaborate with business and technology teams to define architectures for AI platforms, governance, analytics, and scalable use cases—driving real outcomes like predictive maintenance, customer experience enhancements, and operational efficiency. - Design scalable AI/ML and generative AI solutions for cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments
- Ensure model lifecycle management, integration, and deployment with delivery and data engineering teams
- Align solutions with enterprise integration, data, and cybersecurity standards
- Define best practices and standards for AI, including MLOps and GenAI
- Implement governance for responsible AI, privacy, security, and compliance
- Lead solution design and configuration; develop architecture artifacts per ATCO practices
- Translate business use cases into solution designs
- Work with cybersecurity to secure models and data pipelines
- Validate architectures and technical designs with Principal Architects and project teams
- Partner with data, analytics, infrastructure, and cloud teams to provision environments
- Bridge technical and business stakeholders to meet strategic objectives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and third parties to define future state architectures
- Pilot emerging AI technologies (generative AI, edge AI for OT)
- Educate teams on AI capabilities and value
- Maintain an enterprise-wide view of strategy, processes, and governance
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices
- Align technology strategy with business strategy and brief stakeholders on relevant AI trends
- Guide architecture reviews and delivery
- Oversee technical decisions on data ingestion, model training, deployment, and monitoring
- Ensure scalability, resilience, and performance of AI solutions
- Support standardization of technology and maintain architecture documentation
- Develop deep knowledge of existing architecture and technology footprint
- Bachelor’s degree in information and computer science or a related field
- Multiple data-related certifications, ideally in Microsoft technologies (such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
- 10+ years of experience in AI solution roles (such as AI Consultant, AI Specialist, AI Architect) with a proven track record of successful project delivery and client satisfaction- Proficiency and understanding of the Predictive Modeling Lifecycle and best practices for feature engineering, model development and tuning, model validation, model deployment packaging, model management and performance monitoring
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively articulating complex data concepts to stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, manage project deliverables, and ensure the technical robustness and financial efficiency of data solutions
- Strong knowledge of AI/ML architectures, including:
- Model development, training, and inference
- MLOps and model lifecycle management
- Generative AI (LLMs, copilots, automation)
- Proficiency with cloud platforms such as: Azure AI, GCP Vertex AI, and Databricks
- Knowledge of data architecture and pipelines (e.g., ETL/ELT, data lakes, Kafka, APIs)
- Experience with integration patterns and cloud-native deployment
- Familiarity with utility-specific systems (e.g., OMS, Maximo, AMI, ERP, GIS, Salesforce, Oracle Cloud Billing System, and SCADA) is an asset
