We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

Working fairly independently, formulates or defines specifications for complex operating software programming applications. Modifies or maintains complex existing applications, using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer. Works with applications dealing with the overall operating system, at the highest technical level, on all phases of software systems programming applications. Has responsibility for an individual business unit, on multi-project assignments. Guides and advises less experienced Software Systems Engineers. Is monitored on projects' progress and results. Errors may cause delay, expense, and disruption.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

5-6+ years directly related experience.

- Knowledge and experience desired in operating systems, including Sun Solaris, HPUX, Linux, DEC Alpha and VMS, IBM AIX, OpenEdition, Windows NT, IBM OS/390, and Novell Netware.

- Knowledge and experience desired in connectivity and middleware, including TCP/IP, MQ Series, IBM DataJoiner, and Security Skills.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

Preferred Discipline(s): Business, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
