Senior Scheduler

Job Summary:

The Senior Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules for a large Canadian electrical utility. This role involves coordinating with various departments to ensure project timelines are met and resources are efficiently allocated. The Senior Scheduler will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects related to the construction, maintenance, and upgrade of electrical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

· Schedule Development: Create and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).

· Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure alignment on project timelines.

· Monitoring and Reporting: Track project progress, identify potential delays, and provide regular updates to senior management. Prepare and present detailed reports on project status.

· Resource Allocation: Ensure optimal allocation of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to meet project deadlines.

· Risk Management: Identify scheduling risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity.

· Compliance: Ensure all scheduling activities comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including the Canadian Electrical Code and other relevant guidelines.

· Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices in scheduling and project management to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.

· Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in project scheduling, preferably within the electrical utility industry.

· Technical Skills: Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project), and familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code.

· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.

· Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills. Experience in leading cross-functional teams.

· Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions.

Working Conditions:

· Environment: Office-based with occasional site visits.

· Travel: Some travel may be required to various project sites within Canada.

· Hours: Full-time, with occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines.
