Position Overview:
The
Senior Risk Analyst
Position is an experienced position in the Middle Office. The Senior Risk Analyst will be primarily responsible for assisting the Middle Office in maintaining the integrity of the trading portfolio by understanding the transactions and the underlying risk limits. The Senior Risk Analyst will collaborate daily with fellow Risk Analysts, Physical and Financial Marketers/Traders, Schedulers, and Accounting teams.
📍This is an in-office role located at our downtown Houston, TX corporate headquarters.
Responsibilities:•Daily valuation for risk and trading books and production of P&L and position reports for Ethanol, Natural Gas, Chemicals, and Renewables.
•Responsible for managing exposure and mark-to-market reporting for the Ethanol and Renewables desk, with additional support across other books.
•Identify, comprehend, and analyze the various risks of deals and structured transactions contained in the portfolio while promoting/enforcing compliance with established transactional, portfolio limits, and policies.
•Monitor and analyze the organization's market risk exposure and position for both short-term and long-term strategies/transactions.
•Assist in determining appropriate methodologies such as mark-to-market, etc.
•Generate and review daily reports for distribution to management.
•Troubleshoot process breakdowns/errors with daily system processes.
•Interact with internal customers such as traders, trade analysts, accounting, confirmations, credit, contracts, etc.
•Manage the requirements and demands of multiple key stakeholders.
•Support the implementation of SAP (S4 HANA).
Experience and Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Finance, General Business, Accounting, or Engineering.
•Minimum 7 years in risk analysis and management within crude and products commodity markets and financial derivatives, with a focus on implementing risk management software systems.
•Knowledge and understanding of logistics, including vessel, rail, truck, and pipeline.
•Highly motivated and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment.
•Effective verbal and written communication skills with employees at all levels of the organization.
•Team-oriented and comfortable interacting with diverse teams.
•Ability to manage multiple contacts, databases, spreadsheets, and tasks simultaneously.
•Must be able to work in an office environment.
•Leverages advanced Excel skills, including the use of formulas, functions, pivot tables, and data validation to analyze, organize, and present complex data sets efficiently.
Preferred Education and Experience:
•SAP (S4HANA) experience.
•Strong applicable knowledge of SQL, Power Query, Power BI, RightAngle, Excel, etc.
•Experience with compliance credit (RINs, Benzene/Sulfur, Carbon) transactions and markets.
