Description:
As a Reliability and Analyst Engineer, you will be key in driving customer growth, retention, and expansion for Poseidon’s remote condition monitoring service. You will directly interface with our customers to provide them with actionable information about their monitored machines. You will significantly contribute to the success and growth of Poseidon’s remote monitoring team.
The Reliability Engineer and Analyst is responsible for remotely monitoring and diagnosing customer’s equipment using vibration and other condition monitoring data. Responsibilities include providing condition monitoring and data analyses of critical plant systems and components. The Engineer will interface with multiple customers on a regular basis to provide the customers with insights into their monitored machines. The Engineer will also collaborate with internal teams to develop improvements to the vibration monitoring system.
Key Responsibilities:
•Responsible for monitoring vibration analysis and other sensor-based condition monitoring systems to assist customers in understanding their machine health.
•Use vibration analysis software and various other data to detect changes in the operating behavior of customer equipment and systems, alerting customers of anomalies within those trends which could adversely affect the reliability, availability, maintainability and performance of equipment.
•Perform daily monitoring and periodic reporting of key data results to customers.
•Respond, evaluate, and prioritize alarms for potential equipment related issues and interact with customers to provide recommendations on actions to take to correct detected issues.
•Communicate equipment anomalies customers in an effective and timely manner.
•Management of the customers remote vibration monitoring system to ensure robust system performance.
•Provide leadership, guidance, and direction for the customer’s reliability team and plant area teams.
•Responsible input to Poseidon’s software and hardware development teams for continuous improvement of our products.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
Field of Study Preferred: Mechanical Engineering
Required Computer and Software Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Etc.), experience and familiarity with web presentation and video conferencing solutions
Travel Requirements: 0-30%
Required Qualifications:
•Knowledge and experience in vibration analysis, reliability, & maintenance operations with at least 3+ years in a customer facing capacity.
•Vibration Analysis CAT 2+ is required, CAT 3 preferred.
•Customer relationship builder and customer advocate. Thrive on cross-functional team collaboration and understand the importance of working with technical teammates to analyze RIO, drive impact, and provide a best-in-class customer experience.
•Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally, communicate data to a non-technical person in a concise, clear, and easily understood manner.
•Strong working knowledge of rotating plant components such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, turbines, generators, etc.
•Familiarity with Condition Based Maintenance programs and technology applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience as a Plant Engineer, Lead Operator, Maintenance Technician, CBM Specialist, or Maintenance & Diagnostics Analyst are a plus.
•Experience in FFT analysis of vibration spectra on a range of heavy industrial plants and machines.
•Experience in practical application of other NDT inspection techniques are a plus.
•Knowledge of other reliability and condition-based tools and methods including Inspection, Vibration, Oil Analysis, NDT, thermography, etc., is a plus.
Other Qualifications:
•Successfully pass background check for cybersecurity access requirements.
•Travel to customer facilities may require additional criminal background checks.
