We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled

Senior Project Manager

to join our team at K&A Engineering in

Syracuse, New York.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. You’ll be part of a dynamic, people-focused team where your expertise, ideas, and contributions will be valued and celebrated.

This position will support the execution of large-scale, high-budget transmission and substation projects (>$50M) from initiation through project close-out. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in EPC project delivery, permitting, risk management, and change order control, with a deep understanding of transmission and substation engineering.

Role Expectations:

- Manages all aspects of Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC)/Service projects, including risk to cost, schedule, quality.

- Responsible for the day-to-day successful execution of contracted engineering, procurement, and construction scope in the areas of performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction.

- Oversee all phases of EPC project execution from the owner’s and/or contractor’s perspective.

- Collaborate with permitting and regulatory teams to support compliance, especially within New York’s Article VII permitting framework.

- Manages and leads medium teams of multi-discipline professionals.

- Maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

- Promoting a culture of “can do attitude” and “say do” ratio with project deadline and quality across the team.

- Coordinates and integrates the activities associated with the engineering, procurement, construction, and startup elements of the project team, including the activities of all third-party companies contributing to the initiative.

- Promote a proactive safety culture by encouraging open communication, reporting unsafe conditions, and suggesting improvements to safety practices.

- Diligently ensure compliance with safety regulations, conducting safety inspections, and identifying potential hazards to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.

What we’re looking for:

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, Construction Management or related field from an accredited college/university

- 5+ years’ experience of EPC Project Management experience focused on high voltage substation and transmission projects

- Strong knowledge in project management, project controls and/or engineering

- Basic understanding of design and engineering process, how to run design review meetings and obtain and track feedback from the stakeholders

- PMP is a plus

- Excellent leadership and organizational skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

- Must be able to travel to sites & client meetings as needed

- Applicants must be within a 5 hour drive radius to Syracuse, New York for site and office meetings
