THE POSITION

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior HR Manager to lead and execute strategies for strategic workforce planning, succession planning, data analytics, and talent attraction. This critical role manages a team of ~10 professionals, with two direct reports at the Team Lead level. Working closely with peers in HR Operations, Compensation, and Employee Experience, this leadership role will drive the development and execution of strategies and programs to attract, develop, and retain top talent – ensuring the organization manages talent risk and is well-positioned for long-term success. This is a high-impact role, pivotal in shaping the future workforce of the organization.


Responsibilities


Strategy & Execution:

Lead and collaborate with the Talent Attraction Team Lead to develop and execute innovative talent attraction and sourcing strategies that meet business requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Ensure the development and implementation of a best practice recruitment/talent attraction model, resulting in standard operating procedures, consistency, and metrics for the recruiting team.
In collaboration with the Senior Manager, Employee Experience, assist in managing Keyera’s early career program, including internships, co-op placements, and graduate recruitment. Foster relationships with educational institutions and industry partners.
Develop and oversee critical sourcing programs and implement essential hiring and development tools and processes.
Lead and collaborate with the Workforce Planning and Analytics Team Lead in the creation and execution of succession plans, ensuring the company has a strong leadership bench.
Actively participate in the Workday Succession planning module rollout and adoption.
Ensure the development and implementation of workforce planning strategies that align with business goals and future growth.
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic workforce plans.
Oversee the development of a dashboard, key organizational metrics and the analysis of workforce data to identify trends and enable data-driven decisions.
Partner with the Manager of Learning and Development to design and implement leadership development initiatives, including training, coaching, and mentorship, to cultivate a pipeline of future leaders and ensure organizational growth and continuity.


Leadership:

Lead and manage a team comprised of two Team Leads and a broad-based group of individual contributors, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development support.
Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture aligned with company values and objectives.
Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary resources and training to succeed.
In collaboration with the General Manager, HR, work closely with Keyera Executives to understand business goals and ensure HR talent development strategies align with the broader organizational strategy and vision.
Provide strategic guidance on key HR matters and partner with leadership to drive initiatives that impact talent attraction, development, and retention.


Collaboration:

Work closely with peer HR management to ensure a “one HR” approach with alignment and consistency in HR philosophy and practices across the organization. Share best practices and collaborate on cross-functional HR initiatives to drive broader HR strategy.
Support the General Manager, HR, in preparing board materials, ensuring data-driven insights and comprehensive HR reports.


Continuous Improvement:

Monitor industry trends, benchmark HR practices, and apply best practices to drive continuous improvement across recruitment, talent development, data analytics, succession, and workforce planning.
Implement and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of talent programs and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
Manage the progression, career development, and training of HR team members, functioning as a key member of the Keyera HR leadership team.


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field. Energy Industry experience or related considered an asset.
10+ years of progressive HR experience including 5+ years of leadership in a similar role focusing on succession planning, strategic workforce planning, talent acquisition and analytics.
Proven leadership track record managing diverse teams and driving HR strategy within people programs at a senior level.
Strategic thinker with strong business acumen to translate business needs into effective HR strategies and plans.
Driven & collaborative leader with a proven track record of managing high-performing teams.
Resilient, adaptable, and highly organized to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong experience and leadership presence collaborating with senior executives and supporting board-level reporting and presentations.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
In-depth knowledge of HR best practices and workforce planning methodologies.
Proven project management skills.
