Responsible for planning and directing activities to ensure the safe, reliable and economic operation of the Company’s electric transmission and distribution system. Dispatching operations for electric trouble calls, assuring compliance with all applicable regulatory operating practices and policies, key member of service restoration team from both planning and operations perspectives. Responsible for the performance management of both management and union employees. Responsible for establishing and evaluating management teams for 24-hour, 7-day-a-week operation. Responsible for finding ways to create shareholder value through cost minimization and customer service enhancements. Directly responsible for achievement of monthly operating goals focused on reliability, cost management, and safety.
Main Responsibilities:
- Direct 24x7 operations groups (currently CDO and System Operating) in daily operations to ensure the reliability and safety for the 500k+ customers on the system.
- Develop and maintain budget spending for the areas.
- Provide leadership and technical support in the development and deployment of new technologies (ADMS, OMS etc)
- Lead NERC Compliance Program for the T&D operations area. Liaison with NERC and Reliability First for the company. Lead audit preparations (internal and external) to ensure the company is compliant with applicable standards. Lead PJM audit preparations and schedule their audits. Work directly and collaboratively with the Director, AES NERC Operations, and his staff to ensure compliance and continuous program improvement.
- Ensure field and office staffing levels are adequate for normal and storm response.
- Prepare storm restoration plan annually, ensure all storm team members are trained in their responsibilities, maintain storm team schedule.
- NATF company representative responsible for maintaining the individuals involved in the working groups and committees.
- Responsible for outage management and data collection for reporting PUCO reliability metrics.
- Maintain Business Continuity Plan for Tier 1 operations (CDO and System Operating), responsible for completing T&D oversite plan.
- MBA preferred, undergraduate degree required, preferred in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- Ten years supervisory experience desired
- Five years’ experience in NERC Compliance activities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Seven years’ experience in T&D operations
