This is a full-time on-site role for an Electrical Test Technician located in Greater Boston. The Electrical Test Technician will be responsible for performing day-to-day tasks such as soldering, troubleshooting electrical components, using and calibrating test equipment, and maintaining effective communication with the engineering and production teams. The technician will diagnose and resolve issues with electrical systems and ensure all equipment meets safety and performance standards.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience as an Electrical Test Technician performing circuit analysis, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the final test of industrial or heavy electrical equipment. Experience in power generation a plus.
- IPC-A- 610, A-620 and J-STD-001 training preferred.
- Experience in using electrical test equipment.
- Experience in electronic component failure analysis
- Good communication skills; must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Excellent computer skills, familiar with networking, MS Office applications.
- Hands-on experience in a workshop setting, including manufacturing, assembly, and prototyping.
- Motivated, team-oriented, and passionate about engineering and manufacturing.
- Experience with testing, troubleshooting and repairing PCB's
- Learn and operate the available test equipment such as DMM, PQA, Oscilloscope, etc.
- Work on several analyses concurrently.
- Ensure tasks are performed on time, safely, and in a professional manner.
- Participate and collaborate across the department to work with engineers in other disciplines such as materials and Product engineering.
- Train technicians and oversee testing of Chillers.
- Establish and perform quality control inspection points for STX and DTX.
- Perform Electrical Check out on all products.
- Create or revise Production documentation and develop test procedures and work instructions.
- Oversee calibration program. Work directly with Metrology company in collecting tools and schedule pick up / drop off of tools.
- Knowledge of 3 phase, single phase, DC power circuits, and control logic.
- Ability to independently analyze, troubleshoot, and repair electrical/electronic problems in wiring, harnesses, PC boards and control systems.
- Ability to read schematics, ladder diagrams, and wire run lists.
- A good mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of engines, generators and compressors is preferred.
- A very good understanding of the principles of heat transfer, refrigeration, cooling and heating applications is a strong plus.
- Ability to record, extrapolate, report, and communicate data and test results.
- Participate and collaborate across the department to work with engineers in other disciplines such as materials and Product engineering.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and quality within assembly and manufacturing processes.
- Implement process improvements for existing assembly methods.
- Contribute to robust product test plans and methods in partnership with Product and Test Engineering teams.
- Participate in technical meetings
- Set up, assemble, test, and install control system electronic hardware
- Support process documentation updates, including implementation in a Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
