Ellipsis U.S. Onshore ("Ellipsis") is a Dallas-based private energy company focused on the acquisition and development of large, producing oil and gas assets in the United States.
Ellipsis is executing on a non-operated strategy throughout the U.S. onshore. Ellipsis’ current assets include ~1,000 wells totaling ~15,000 BOE/day across the Permian Basin, Haynesville Shale and DJ Basin.
Ellipsis seeks a Senior Landman to join our growing business. The Senior Landman will assist the Land Department with day-to-day land activities required to maintain our non-operated
working and mineral interests located throughout the onshore United States. The position reports directly to the Land Manager, and is located at our headquarters in Dallas, Texas.
- AFE Upkeep
: Support the Land and Engineering Departments with reoccurring drilling & completion proposals, workover proposals, and corresponding AFEs.
- Contract Maintenance
: Negotiate lease extensions, lease amendments, and other contracts necessary to protect the existing profile of all producing assets.
- Partner Correspondence
: Effectively communicate and maintain relationships with our operating partners across all basins.
- Due Diligence Reliability
: Assist Land Department with all due diligence projects necessary to acquire additional oil & gas assets to grow our position.
- Vendor Management:
Work with outside landmen and attorneys when necessary to fulfil outside objectives.
- Database Support:
Maintain lease schedule and asset inventory at the Land Level to harmonize and keep consistent with engineering database.
- Deal Evaluation:
Assist the Land Department on the front end of any asset evaluation requirements including, but not limited to, JOA reviews, lease obligations, and additional land implications.
- Interest Verification:
Corroborate Working Interests and Net Revenue Interests encompassing our existing wells and upside assets.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of in-house experience working with broad-based exploration and development projects.
- Permian Basin experience, particularly Delaware and Midland Basins.
- Ability to interpret and dissect typical oil & gas contracts including, but not limited to, oil & gas leases, Joint Operating Agreements, Declarations of Pooled Units, and Lease Amendments.
- Substantial Title Opinion exposure working through title curative and requirements
- Significant experience calculating working interests and net revenue interests across multiple basins.
- Conscientious attitude with a team-first mindset
- Extremely detail oriented
- Organizational skills necessary to fulfil highlighted job responsibilities.
- Ability to operate and adapt in an environment of rapidly changing priorities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Land Management, Business or related field preferred.
- Experience with Quorum On-Demand Land preferred.
