We’re looking for a Senior Infrastructure Analyst to join our IT Infrastructure Operations team on a full-time. In this role, you’ll report to the Solutions Manager, IT Infrastructure and play a key part in designing, maintaining, and optimizing infrastructure systems that support TransAlta’s operations across on-prem and cloud environments.
This position is based out of our Downtown Calgary Head Office, with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule.
- Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure across on-prem and cloud platforms.
- Provide expert-level support in Dell server hardware, VMware, and Nutanix environments.
- Manage Microsoft Azure infrastructure including VMs, storage, networking, and automation.
- Develop Infrastructure-as-Code templates using ARM, Bicep, or Terraform.
- Write automation scripts in PowerShell and use KQL for performance and alerting.
- Maintain Windows Server & Linux OS environments, including patching and troubleshooting.
- Oversee SAN/NAS environments and storage lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with OT teams to support secure IT/OT integration.
- Monitor infrastructure performance and recommend optimization strategies.
- Act as a technical mentor and escalation point for junior analysts.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in an IT-related field.
- 7–10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, ideally in analyst or server admin roles.
- Certifications such as Azure Administrator, VMWare VCP, Nutanix NCP, Dell EMC.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, Security, Monitoring), PowerShell & KQL scripting, VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, Dell PowerEdge servers, Linux & Windows Server OS (2016/2019/2022), SAN/NAS storage, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep).
