The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for financial modeling and forecasting, developing and monitoring operating and capital investment budgets, preparing management and shareholder financial reports, investment coordination, investment analysis, and other financial projects of the organization. Financial modeling includes both scenario and sensitivity analyses utilized to evaluate and articulate financial impacts and support key business recommendations. This position reports to the Director of Finance.
• Lead development, monitoring, and analysis of the Company’s annual operating and capital investment budgets, working cross-functionally to ensure accurate and timely information
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and multi-year financial analysis and reporting for management and shareholders
• Development and maintenance of Company’s short and long-term financial models and debt plans to forecast and recommend adequate capital coverage, including debt and equity raises and ensure compliance with debt service coverage ratios and other credit metrics
• Prepare monthly and quarterly budget to actuals reporting and conduct variance analysis
• Prepare monthly cash flow forecasting and reporting including maintaining forecast of capital expenditures
• Manage cash investments in accordance with company policies and the requirements of noteholders and regulatory bodies
• Prepare financial reports as required by regulatory bodies
• Develop financial models and perform analyses to support strategic initiatives and capital project additions
• Development of Company’s 5-year Business Plan and Capex Plan
• Performs tasks and analysis with a high-level of accuracy to maintain confidence and integrity in the information and recommendations provided to management, shareholders, and regulators
• Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing the drivers of unexpected variances
• Ad-Hoc reporting and analysis including scenario and sensitivity analyses and developing financial forecasts
• Operate with minimal supervision on projects with significant cross-departmental collaboration
• Evaluate existing processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls, including oversight of cost center structures
• Support and execute special projects to improve and optimize processes and other performance projects as assigned by management
• Document procedures for recurring tasks and cross-train other team members as needed

• BA/ BS in Business, majoring in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial modeling, financial reporting & analysis, budget development, and cash management
• Previous experience in the utility industry helpful but not required
• Experience with Oracle e-Business Suite or other large, automated accounting system a plus
• Advanced Excel skills, with strong proficiency in financial modeling; proficient in PowerPoint and the full Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical and organizational skills; resourceful and proactive
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and provide clear, actionable recommendations to management
• Must have the ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines
• Demonstrate willingness to take on new challenges with a positive attitude
• Self-starter that reviews current tasks and processes and makes recommendations for improvement
• Ability to work on projects and tasks autonomously from the planning stage, to execution of analysis, preparation of deliverable, with final presentation of deliverable including recommendations and conclusions
• High attention to detail; committed to quality, performance, reliability, and scalability
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
