Americas Gold & Silver is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented

Senior Engineer

to support the engineering team at our Galena Complex in Wallace, Idaho. This key technical role is responsible for executing and managing mine engineering functions including short- and mid-range planning, drill and blast design, ventilation, and infrastructure support. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Engineer and operations teams to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement short- and mid-range mine plans, including development and production scheduling.

- Prepare detailed drill and blast designs and support daily underground production activities.

- Monitor and update ventilation and ground control systems to maintain safe working conditions.

- Collaborate with geology, operations, and maintenance teams to support stope design, resource extraction, and production targets.

- Assist in the development of infrastructure planning such as backfill systems, dewatering, and power distribution.

- Ensure engineering compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and safety practices.

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across mine planning, scheduling, and operational efficiency.

- Support the mentoring and technical development of junior engineers and interns.

- Prepare technical reports, plans, and documentation for internal and regulatory purposes.

Qualifications And Experience

- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering or related discipline.

- Required: Minimum of eight (8) years of underground mine engineering experience.

- Strong proficiency in mine planning and design software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, or equivalent).

- Solid understanding of underground mining methods, ground support, ventilation, and safety standards.

- Demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering projects and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

- Excellent technical communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
