Description:

Join our team as an Energy Efficiency Engineer, where you'll work independently to review and assess technical solutions, completing custom complex engineering and energy efficiency calculations for specific customer sectors. You'll play a crucial role in delivering Enbridge’s Energy Conservation programs directly to customers and affiliated business partners. Your expertise will guide delivery team members by consulting and advising in the early stages of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Independently review and assess technical solutions, completing custom complex engineering and energy efficiency calculations for Commercial and Institutional accounts.

- Provide technical guidance and solutions to delivery team members and less experienced engineers in the energy conservation team.

- Support the continual improvement, user training, and evolution of eTools and other internal energy efficiency project calculators.

- Establish and build operational and technical relationships with internal stakeholders to foster long-term trust and commitment.

- Conduct site walk-throughs with delivery team members to assist in identifying, screening, and evaluating potential energy conservation opportunities.

- Ensure timely review of projects in DSM tracking systems, resulting in verifiable savings calculations that withstand audit and verification processes.

- Collaborate with internal Enbridge departments to complete all custom project review requirements.

- Execute annual training plans for delivery teams or topics as assigned by the Supervisor.

- Work cooperatively with team members and cross-boundary colleagues to complete assigned work safely, accurately, and on time.

Scope/Dimensions:

- Assist in meeting or exceeding assigned annual Energy Conservation targets to provide maximum shareholder value.

- Develop strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to build trust and protect the Enbridge brand.

- Actively support the path to zero safety incidents, demonstrating safety leadership.

Contacts (Working Relationships):

- Focus on reviewing complex technical projects and building trust by providing valuable technical advice to delivery teams.

- Collaborate with peers in Energy Conservation, particularly in delivery teams, evaluation, and marketing.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Required:

- Post-secondary degree in Engineering (preferred: mechanical, chemical, or electrical).

- Membership in Professional Engineers of Ontario or similar professional organization.

- 7+ years’ experience in project engineering, technical sales, or project management.

- Experience with energy and process efficiency projects.

- Exceptional understanding of commercial, institutional, and residential heating, cooling, and ventilation processes and technologies.

- Strong technical and analytical aptitude, with the ability to translate project scopes into clear and accurate energy calculations.

- Self-motivated, self-starter, able to operate independently but work with a team of like-minded professionals.

- Proven skills in leading and influencing without explicit authority.

- Proven time management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects.

- Superior written and verbal communication ability and excellent interpersonal skills.

- Strong relationship building, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

- Valid driver’s license with a responsible driving record.

Preferred:

- Certified Energy Manager (CEM).

- Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP).

- Experience with energy efficiency projects for industrial manufacturing.

- Knowledge of Building and Equipment Codes and Standards.

- Strong background in Building Automation Systems, Controls, HVAC systems, Steam and Hydronic Boilers, Furnaces, Heat-Pumps, Combined Heat and Power (CHP), District Energy systems, Renewable Energy Technologies, etc.

- Understanding of GHG emission and regulations in Ontario.

Working Conditions:

- Office environment with light physical effort and normal visual/sensory effort.

- Regular visits to customer facilities and job sites to assess energy efficiency opportunities on a weekly basis.

- Occasional travel, including overnight, mainly within Ontario.
