Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering principles and practices, with a focus on innovative design and system integration. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
•Design and develop electrical systems and components for various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
•Utilize CAD software, including AutoCAD and Revit, for creating detailed electrical schematics and layouts.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with mechanical engineering designs.
•Conduct system design reviews, testing, and validation of electrical components, including logic controllers and FPGA implementations.
•Develop software solutions using programming languages such as C++ and Python to enhance system functionality.
•Provide technical support during the installation, testing, and commissioning phases of projects.
•Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in electrical engineering design and analysis.

•Demonstrated leadership skills, initiative, and ability to lead a multidisciplinary team on projects, while working with multiple project deadlines and budgets.
•Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across various organizational levels, tailoring messages to different audiences.
•Skilled at reading cues from diverse listeners to assess when and how to adjust communication approaches.
•Ability to work effectively within a team environment and across multiple project teams, fostering collaboration and supporting team goals.
•Proficiency in relevant design software packages.
•Excellent demonstrated technical writing, interpersonal, and problem-solving skill
Education and Experience
•A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience suitable for the position.
•Extensive field experience in industrial automation and control systems, or systems engineering, demonstrating a strong practical understanding of these technologies.
•Experience in managing projects or involvement in project management is an asset, particularly in an engineering context.
•License to practice engineering issued by a provincial or territorial engineering regulatory body (P. Eng status)
Logistics
•The Senior Electrical Engineer will be based on-site. Occasional travel to project sites, or client locations may be required.

Compensation/Benefits
AKA Energy Systems is offering the following compensation/benefits for this position:
WAGE RANGE
$120,000-$150,000 annual salary - negotiable based on industry knowledge and experience.
