ECF Engineering Consultants is a full-service engineering firm that specializes in providing technical solution services to the Energy Markets and public and private sectors, requiring electrical and mechanical engineering support.
We serve those entities on an array of projects, offering consultation on technology utilization, design solutions for electrical and mechanical systems, public health systems, and equipment procurement and construction phase services.
We are seeking candidates who reside in the Atlanta Metropolitan area for our Georgia or Florida offices.
General Description:
This candidate must have the depth and expertise to manage, direct, mentor, and supervise the day-to-day work on projects. This position reports to the senior director of Distribution Engineering (DE) and oversees and performs electrical engineering and related activities associated with DE projects. Knowledge of CYME is required.
The candidate will be responsible for report writing, project client deliverables, and project quality control. The position will require participation in presentations, external client contacts, and project meetings. This position requires a dependable self-starter who can work in a team-oriented environment. The candidate must also keep abreast of new methods and developments within the industry.
Essential Functions:
•The primary function will be using CYME to run, review, and modify DE models for various utilities.
•Responsible for the design of power, controls, and lighting systems, including complete load calculations.
•The engineer will be expected to review each assigned project with the Project Manager and provide input and support throughout the project's duration. Be able to complete procurement specifications for all materials, such as wiring, conduit, electrical equipment, and components.
•Oversee and be responsible for designing systems for the project within estimated company budgets.
•Work with architects, other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors to manage the project.
•Other duties as assigned.
Other Functions of Position:
•Work independently based on general instructions, directions, or objectives from the Project Manager or Supervisor.
•Provide direct supervision to staff designers, CADD technicians, and field personnel.
•Must possess sound technical and engineering design/planning skills and computer and financial/project management skills.
•Must be experienced in design of 15kv, 5kv and 600 volt and smaller electrical DE systems.
•Must be experienced in the design of power infrastructure and power distribution.
•Power distribution systems, telecommunications/data planning, and building automation systems.

Required Education and Experience:
•Skills in CYME Load Flow Analysis.
•Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited university. An Electrical Professional Engineer’s license is desired (State of Florida).
•Minimum one year experience in CYME.
•Strong understanding and knowledge of industry codes, including NEC and Life Safety Code, NFPA 101, NFPA 70/70E, IEEE, and the International Building Code are a plus.
•Skills in AutoCAD (REVIT) and Microsoft Office products are required. Strong analytical and management skills are also preferred
