Strategic sourcing of qualified vendor, negotiate both annual agreements and one time deals, execution of purchase orders, and develop and maintain vendor relationships.
- Successfully negotiating contracts and payment terms as well as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) pricing
- Negotiating formula pricing structures based on familiarity with commodities used in typical manufacturing processes
- Working knowledge of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs and ability to implement these from start to finish
- Assertively building a qualified base of vendors and continually expand industry expertise
- Purchasing point of contact for assigned business divisions
- Supply chain and purchase order management
- Additional items as assigned by manager
This position interacts with Customers, Outside Sales Reps, Vendors, Engineering, Operations, Product Managers, Accounting, Receiving, Quality, and Production.
- Basic familiarity with drawings and specifications.
- Strong, cross-functional communication skills, detail oriented, MS office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfortable working with ERP systems.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong ability to establish rapport.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing commodity assignments.
- Timely disposition of RTV items.
- Understanding of MRP planning.
- Bachelors or Associates degree required.
