Position Summary:
This is the career/senior level of the Operational Visualization job hierarchy. Employees at this level manage work in areas of specialization, with minimal supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues. They are fully competent in all elements of Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) and advanced analytics concepts. They identify problems, develop solutions and take actions to resolve. Senior Analytics & Visualization Consultant represents a level at which career may stabilize for many years.
Responsibilities:
•Has a strong understanding of end-to-end performance as it relates to customer experiences (Start Service, Billing and Payments, Outage, Repair, Transfer, Stop Service, etc.) and contact center operations
•Maintain historical and build next generation of PBI reporting dashboards that capture key performance metrics for business partners to consume after Piedmont Natural Gas (PNG) and Duke Energy’s launch of new cloud-based contact center platform (Genesys / Elevate 360), accountable for data analytics and tracking.
•Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders, business partners, colleagues, developers, and business analysts to understand requirements, plan and deliver thoughtful, user-friendly, dynamic dashboards and reports that delight users and deliver high quality value-adding analytics solutions.
•Champion user trust of reporting and ad hoc information by upholding accuracy and integrity of all datasets through exploration, validation, and swift correction.
•Create and translate data visualizations, models and findings into key strategic insights to provide recommendations on actions leadership can take to improve operational performance and customer satisfaction.
•Effectively present work to users and business leaders, identifying trends and outliers, sharing data discovery using solutions developed. Identify pain points faced by stakeholders and develop the data visualization solutions that addresses their needs.
•Demo, install, setup, test, demo Power BI workspaces, datasets, dataflows, dashboards, reports, schedules, APIs, subscriptions.
•Develop and maintain applications using Microsoft Power Apps.
•Automate business processes and workflows using Microsoft Power Automate.
•Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and secure.
•Provide technical support and training to users.
•Stay updated with the latest features and updates in the Microsoft Power Platform.
•Contribute as a lead team member for special projects.
•Use SQL for data wrangling and effective transformation the data to be consumed into Power BI.
•Develop statistical models and perform regression analyses to estimate the relationship of specific operational performance measures to overall customer sentiment, the relative economic value of movement NPS (either up or down), the impact of specific actions on operational performance and economic analyses of investments in certain practices to improve performance.
•Document work and processes for transition to junior developers.
Required/Basic Qualifications
•In addition to required degree, five (5) years minimum of related work experience
Desired Qualifications
•Expertise in DAX and SQL
•Command of Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps)
•6+ years of experience designing, developing, and testing Power BI data visualization solutions, with an emphasis on data modeling and dashboards
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to bridge the gap between data science and business management
•Exceptional organizational skills and detail orientation
•Focus on data integrity and accuracy
Additional Preferred Qualifications
•Bachelor Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems
•Working knowledge of statistics, programming and predictive modeling
•Working knowledge of code writing
•Previous experience working in data mining or natural language processing
•Understanding of and ability to use scripts like SQL (Structured Query Language) and / or Hive for accessing and wrangling data.
•Understanding of and ability to use analytics tools such as Python, R, SAS or PowerBI
•Ability to deal with a variety of individuals
•Understanding of data and analytics, statics, modeling, etc. and general business acumen
•Proficient in principles of project management
•Experience in the utility and contact center industries
•Customer specific experience
Working Conditions
•Virtual - Work will be performed from a remote location after the onboarding period. However, virtual employees should live within a reasonable commute to a Duke Energy facility and be eager to meet team in person as needed.
Specific Requirements
•Minimum of 6 years work experience OR 4 years work experience with a Master’s degree
