Summary:
The Senior Accounting Analyst will work closely with the SVP of Finance and Accounting Manager to support monthly close activities, prepare financial statements, and assist with audit documentation and account analysis across multiple entities. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role requiring technical accounting expertise and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Accounting Analyst will also be actively involved in financial statement consolidation and presentation, independent GAAP audits, internal audits, and exploring the use of AI tools to improve processes and accounting efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Partner with the Accounting Manager to perform all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
•Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses
•Analyze intercompany activity and prepare eliminations
•Assist in multi-entity financial consolidations in compliance with US GAAP
•Interface with international and third-party accounting resources to obtain timely financial reporting among Trendsetter’s subsidiaries and affiliates
•Maintain fixed asset and inventory accounting schedules
•Support the preparation of internal and external financial reporting packages
•Maintain consistent adherence to accounting policies and internal controls
•Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial data and timely issue resolution
•Support internal and external audits, preparing schedules and responding to inquiries
•Contribute to finance system upgrades and automation initiatives. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and explore AI tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting (required); CPA or CPA track preferred
•4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, including corporate close/reporting roles. Experience in oil and gas, construction, manufacturing, or project-based business with a corporate GL focus is strongly preferred.
•Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and financial statement preparation. Experience with multi-entity consolidations, international entities and IFRS statements a plus.
•Experience preparing audit workpapers and supporting audit processes
•Proficient knowledge of fixed assets, inventory, and intercompany eliminations
•Familiarity with ERP and accounting systems such as SAP, IFS Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, or similar
•Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, modeling)
•Familiarity with close automation tools such as BlackLine of FloQast a plus
