We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. - Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and year to date financials as necessary.
- Assist in year end audit, financial statement preparation and periodic internal reporting.
- Assists Corporate Controller and Accounting Manager in establishing internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions.
- Prepares and maintains schedules of fixed assets, prepaid expenses and leases. Demonstrates ability to analyze contracts, determine appropriate accounting treatment and document conclusions.
- Assists in ensuring that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Assists in developing accounting policies and procedures to ensure proper controls and financial reporting.
- Communicates with various departments to ensure the appropriate accounting treatment is applied when reviewing invoices.
- Assists Corporate Controller on ensuring compliance with local ,state, and federal government tax requirements.
- Prepares and reviews journal entries and account reconciliations for accuracy and proper accounting treatment.
- Assists and serves as a backup for AR/AP.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to15 pounds at times.
- In office Monday – Thursday.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
- Three years minimum of related accounting experience required.
- Experience in the energy industry preferred.
- Strong understanding of U.S GAAP.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Intacct/Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred but not required.
