Teach introductory and advanced Theatre Arts courses in secondary grades.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
•Proven mastery of superior instruction in secondary grade introduction to theatre, advanced theatre, directing, improvisation, makeup, costume design, props construction, set design, technical theatre, acting, theatre history, and theatre appreciation.
•Ability to establish a state/nationally recognized theatre program.
•Produce theatrical productions (plays, musicals, one acts, and student-produced/directed productions) both during the scheduled day and extra/co-curricular.
•Superior knowledge of safety standards and procedures in all theatre practices.
•Provide extensive project-based, inquiry-driven, theatre arts instruction based on the KCPS Theatre Arts curriculum.
•Provide best practice instruction through the use of a wide variety of technologies, educational resources, multimedia, and others.
•Prepare course learning targets for instruction and student achievement following district curriculum guidelines.
•Provide tutoring opportunities for students both during and beyond the regular school day.
•Assess student achievement and provide timely and appropriate feedback.
•Design and deliver learning interventions to assure student success.
•Monitor and keep detailed records of student performance and progress.
•Inform and ongoing communication with parents about student progress.
•Keep accurate attendance records.
•Maintain an orderly classroom with a focus on positive student behavior, discipline, and engagement to ensure maximum learning.
•Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
•Perform related duties such as sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting a course of study, and counseling students in adjustment and academic problems, concerns, and issues.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from a four-year college or university
Hold or be eligible for Missouri State Certification in Speech/Theatre
