We are currently looking for candidates to work on our Sealcoat Crews as a Sealcoat Foreman for our Gainesville, FL location.
The Sealcoat foreman directs and supervises the day to day operations of a sealcoat crew The individual will be responsible for supplying skilled tasks to the appropriate crew members to ensure that the project is completed as designed on budget in an efficient manner. Some responsibilities will include:
•Manages and supervises all activities pertaining sealcoat.
•Provide assistance and guidance with other duties.
•Operate and use a variety of hand and power tools.
•Read and interpret plans and blueprints for new layout.
•Layout and install pavement marking on roadways, parking lots, according to the specifications and other various requirements.
•Controls some traffic at worksites by flagging to guide traffic through work areas, as required or assigned, duties may vary according to job assignment,
•Responsible for assigning daily tasks and assignments to crew members.
•Submits daily progress reports and timesheets to Superintendent.
•Maintain and manage assigned company equipment and assets.
•Equipment cleanup and maintenance.
•Maintaining work standards and outlining behavioral expectations to ensure crew morale and productivity.
•Overseeing the execution of the work, including quality and production, ensuring that the crew works to job specifications and follows the plans.
•Inspecting and measuring completed work.
•Preparation of daily production records.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
•Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures while performing the work.
•Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.
•May participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
•Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.
•Report any accidents/incidents to Superintendent, or Human Resources Manager.
Requirements
•High school diploma or equivalency required
•3 years of experience as a Sealcoat Foreman.
Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies
•Excellent management skills including planning, organizing, decision making, motivating, mentoring and leading with a high degree of interpersonal skills.
•Must have a strong understanding in setting elevations and grades with a laser or transient.
•Ability to work from construction maps/plans, follow specified layouts.
•Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
•Ability to utilize various production tools and equipment.
•Requires detail orientation and attention.
•Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
•Ability to communicate with supervisor, co-workers, contractors, and general public in a courteous and professional manner.
•Ability to lift and carry loads within limits set by the OSHA regulations.
•Ability to fully understand the paving process.
•Ability to use heavy equipment.
•Must be able to work extended hours and weekends/holidays as needed to meet deadlines.
