Scrap Buyer

Responsibilities:

- Purchase ferrous and non-ferrous materials from incoming peddler/retail traffic and commercial/industrial accounts.

- Inspect incoming scrap, ensuring materials meet specifications, adhering to quality standards, and comply with state regulations and guidelines.

- Guide customers on accepted/non-accepted materials and make deductions as needed.

- Handle multiple priorities while offering a high-quality customer experience in a fast-paced environment by building and fostering positive relationships.

- Respond promptly to inquiries and concerns, ensuring every interaction is exceptional.

- Coordinate with internal teams to streamline processes and enhance the overall customer experience.

- Demonstrate a willingness to go the extra mile, learning the scrap metal recycling industry and contributing to business growth.

- Perform light labor tasks, including general office cleaning,

Qualifications:

- Exceptional people skills with a proven ability to excel in customer service and build strong relationships.

- Demonstrated issue resolution skills and ability to adapt to a fast-paced, indoor/outdoor environment.

- Sense of teamwork as well as independent initiative required.

- Physical ability to climb onto trailers and navigate various uneven ground environments.

- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.

- Forklift operation skills is a plus.

- Bilingual is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.50 - $14.00 per hour
