Position Summary

Steel Forgings Inc. (SFI) is a leading manufacturer of custom butt weld fittings that has been servicing the oil and gas industry for over 70 years. SFI is seeking a qualified individual for its saw operations department. SFI is currently looking for a Saw Shop Operator to join the SFI team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•

Ability to read a tape measure is a must.

•

Saw cut orders to given measurement located on traveler using the correct saw.

•

Trim saddles on saw as needed.

•

Trim tees to correct measurement on the saw.

•

Verify the accuracy of purchased cylinders upon receipt.

•

Transport fittings to correct location using a fork truck when saw operation is complete

•

Operate cutting torch on occasion when needed.

•

Clean, maintain and replace machine blades as needed.

•

Report all technical/machine issues to supervisor immediately.

•

Report all scrap or recut fittings to engineering department and immediate supervisor.

Knowledge, Experience, and Requirements

•

Must have or obtain forklift certification.

•

Good written and verbal communication skills.

•

Strong sense of time organization and urgency.

•

Attention to detail is required.

•

Computer knowledge and skills.

•

Ability to multi-task.

Physical Requirements:

•

Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

•

Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment.

•

Most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.

•

Walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, other active movements.

•

Working in temperature zones that may include hot environments.
